What A Blessed Day!

Motorcycle Events, Articles

Wow, what a day it has been!  After a long cold winter, there is nothing better to rejuvenate a biker than a nice brisk ride in the morning to a gathering of 5 or 6 thousand other bikers (give or take a thousand!).  The 7th Annual Blessing of the Bikes, presented by the Dayton 73 Mooseriders,  was once again a tremendous success.

It was wonderful to see old friends again, make some new ones and put faces behind the names of the many emails that I get.

I have about 15 flyers to post to the calendar that I was given today.  I will post the events for May first and will work on getting the rest posted over the next week or two.  I just found out yesterday that my mother in law is coming up from Florida next week, and I have tons to do before she gets here!  So just be a little patient with me.

Pictures from today will get posted tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest.  I am anxious to see them and I think I took about 150.  Prepping them and then uploading will take some time since I still live in the land of dinosaurs and dialup.

I also have a few articles to post so watch for them over the next week or so.

I remember being terribly nervous last year to ride near a bunch of other bikes at The Blessing (it was my second riding season), but did not feel that way this year.  I think the excitement of the day after the awful winter I had,  overtook any fear I had of doing something stupid to embarrass myself.  I did come to realize that I tend to put myself too close to the edge of the road at stop signs when I am going to turn right.  The gravel and the edge of the road make it tough to get footing and it’s harder to actually make the turn.  I’ll be working on that this summer.

One last thing I want to say to my friend Dave, who didn’t show up to ride with us this morning because “it was too damn cold”,  What a wuss!

Ride safe,
Suzie

I just received this email from Beth Perry and wanted to share it with everyone because she is thanking you for attending yesterdays event!

Suzie,

I’m with Dayton 73 Mooseriders and I just checked out all your pics from The Blessing, they were great. Wanted to thank you and everyone for coming out and supporting us and our charities. It was a great day and we had a wonderful turn out. We could’nt do what we do with all the support from our community, thank you again!!!
