Floodwalls do a great job of keeping water from going were it's not supposed to, but they aren't a pretty site. Things are a bit different though on the floodwalls in Portsmouth, Ohio.
2200 feet of concrete walls 20 feet tall are covered with lots of color and great scenes from Portsmouth's history. Artist Robert Dafford has helped turn the grey concrete floodwall into an outdoor art gallery.
One of murals, (there is approximately 50) is of the Portsmouth Motorcycle Club. The Portsmouth Motorcycle Club claims to be the "nations oldest cycling club", probably some pretty cool history stuff at their clubhouse.
Directions:
St Rt 35 South to St Rt 23 South through Portsmouth. Before you go over the bridge into Kentucky, turn right onto 73 west. Turn left on Washington Street. Go about one block and the murals should start right in front of you.
