Situated in rural northern Indiana, the 40,000 sq. ft. building that houses the museum boasts nearly 100 motorcycles including a 1931 Indian 4 cylinder, a 1926 Harley-Davidson BA and a 1916 Harley-Davidson model J. The museum also houses early Japanese models as well as classic British motorcycles.
Family owned and operated, the Kersting's opened the museum in 2003. Kerstings Cycle Center is a full service authorized dealer of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, Kawasawki and Yamaha Motorcycles and ATV's and has been in business since 1962.
You could make this a day trip if you don't mind being tired when you get home! Indiana's Tippecanoe River State Park is nearby and offers camping with electric hookups (sorry, no cabins.) For more information about lodging and other areas of interest, check out the Northern Indiana Area Guide website. It has a really neat interactive map with a search function for locating just about anything by region.
If you are planning a weekend trip to the motorcycle museum, you'll need to plan your trip to arrive before 4pm on Saturday. Kersting's is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
