It was only printed in a couple of zones this week but I have been told that it will hit the rest of them next week. (You are hereby warned, This gives me an extra week to extend my 15 mins of fame!)
I can't thank Martha Hardcastle enough for doing the story to help spread the word about the website. I've already received some emails for new events to add to the calendar. The article will be on the website as a pdf file later next week for anyone that missed it.
of the website. Comments can be left for individual images, so if you see someone you know, tell them hi. Feel free to copy any of the images for yourself. If I ever post a picture of you and you don't want it there, please let me know and I'll remove it.
One is RIDERS LOOKING FOR RIDERS where you can post offers or requests for riding partners either locally or for long distance trips. The other is PASSENGERS LOOKING FOR RIDERS, a place to post if you know someone that is handicapped in some way and would like to ride a motorcycle. This is also the place to post offers to take someone for a ride.
Just a little reminder to those who said they were going to place a classified ad, June 30th will be the last day for free ads with pictures.
That's where I'll be this weekend taking pics and seeing if I can beat the boys in the slow race! New Madison is not too far away for a fun day of bike games and entertainment. Check the
If you visit and the counter only says something like 40 or 50, it's not correct. The last I remember seeing it sometime yesterday, it was close to 1650. I'm guessing the server went down again (grrrrrrr!). I'll have it fixed as soon as I can get to the stats.
Whooo Hooo! We're going to make the paper!
The phone rang a bit before 11am on Friday and in my usual grumpiness for that time of the morning, I answered Hello but not sounding happy about it. The caller told me who they were and what they wanted and my mood changed drastically! It was Martha from the Dayton Daily News wanting an interview.
This is wonderful news for the website AND
for every event on the calendar. The more exposure the site gets, the greater the chance that someone will attend an event that they didn't know about and that means more proceeds! Whoo Hooooooooo! (Can you tell yet that I am excited?)
The article is to be out this Thursday and I'm not sure if it will be in all of the papers or just the Neighbors section for where I live. (I wasn't paying attention very well, I was too busy trying to figure out who to call and tell first!)
So here it comes, my five minutes of fame, and I am going to stretch it out for as long as I can!
Watch for the new weather pages
In a day or two (maybe three, I have family in town), I'll be adding the weather to the website instead of just an outside link. You'll be able to see the current weather, radar loops, and a few other goodies.
Are you going to Sturgis?
I received an email from Rick, looking to hook up with someone for the trip to Sturgis. He's made a post in the forums, under Riding Thoughts. Later in the week, I'll add a section to the forums just for these kind of requests or invitations. I'll let you know when I get that done.
The site was down for a bit Friday night
Hopefully, none of you noticed because it was late, but I apolozige to anyone who had trouble accessing the site. Personally, I was freaking out, but a phone call to the site host and 30 minutes later, things were back to normal.
I received a request for a free singles section and I had been considering adding forums, so I thought I could combined the two. I wasn't sure that there was enough traffic to warrant forums since the site is still so new, but we'll try it and see how it goes. Please keep your posts clean, be nice and let me know if you have any suggestions.
Your help is needed!
Events will be added when I find out about them but I know that I will
probably not hear about even half of them. So please, if you know about
an event that's not listed on the calendar, add it, tell the event
sponsor to post it
here, email, call, or snail mail
the info. Whatever
it takes, I'll make sure it gets on the calendar.
